4th November 2008.
I have been researching my family history for 17 years and have a huge amount of data, especially on the Hollinrakes which has been my main interest. It is an unusual and single source name so any Hollinrake is bound to fit in somewhere.
I have published a book - "A Rough Path near the Holly Tree"
A story about the Hollinrakes and related familes around Todmorden, West Yorkshire, from 1558 to 2008.
The related families are Astin, Haigh, Shackleton, Hartley, Travis, Hackett, Greenwood, Marshall, Taylor, Kershaw and Lord.

Comments which I have received -
"Seventeen years worth of research with lots of photos and original documentation"
"Just to let you know I've finished your book and am completely "blown away" at the contents. Your research is fantastic. I can't believe you found so much information - where did you get it from?"
"We all read and enjoyed the book over Christmas. It brought back so many memories for me. Did you know that your grandparents bought our house at Harehill Avenue when we moved to Cheshire?
I remember being given a ride in the car in the photo."
"Thank you so much for the book which arrived yesterday. What a lot of work. I fell on it immediately and have advanced my Hollinrake branch tremendously. I see what interesting people there were I
recognised several names that my mother mentioned. How she would have loved your book and my aunt would have had us running up to Todmorden tomorrow.
Very best wishes Distant Hollinrake Cousin"
"Many thanks for your splendid book, which I have read with great interest and admiration for your extreme industry. The pictures in your book are specially interesting to me because I have only visited the area once and it makes it all come alive again."
"I got a copy of your book the other day. What an amazing legacy you've created for "our" family - not to mention countless other people. Social history is the only REAL history in my opinion. Telling the stories of real people. Thank you for saving me hours and hours of research."
"The book by Rosemary is an extremely well researched work, thank you for such an interesting read."
"I am writing from Halifax Reference Library. We have just received your impressive book, and I will be giving it a good review in our quarterly local and family history newsletter, Past into Present,"
"Rosemary's excellent book is a must read for anyone with Hollinrake relations"
